Siemens Foundational Services
As Global Product Manager for the EDS within Siemens Foundational Services, I drive the strategy and development of management and connectivity solutions for edge devices and systems. Foundational services are intended to work thorugh out the whole siemens protfolio as base for building vlaue adding services on top and as such I am involved with basically every bsuiness unit. Addtionally this involves working with hardware developers as well as with cloud developers to ensure the man in the middle functionality between IoT devices in the field and cloud SaaS offerings in the cloud.

Global Product Manager for BX Connectivity Vertical

As Global Product Manager for the Building X Connectivity Vertical within Siemens Smart infrastructure platform, I drove the strategy and development of connectivity solutions for edge devices and systems. I have worked across multiple tech units to align on common connectivity standards and approaches, enabling seamless device integration, device lifecycle management, application mangement and data abstraction across the Siemens portfolio.

In the CTO Office’s Software Strategy and Architecture group, I worked on defining and implementing software architecture strategies for Siemens Smart infrastructure business unit. I focused on standardizing approaches for data integration, semantic modeling, and device connectivity across multiple business units, promoting the adoption of W3C Web of Things standards and establishing common architectural patterns.

sayWoT! is the solution that tries to easily connect and integrate data from different devices. As a Product Owner I try to further develop this solution to make it more useable, faster and more scalable. My taks are not only the further development but spreading the idea of using the open W3C Web of Things standard, that sayWoT! is implementing, to connect devices. In this role I am not only talking to potential customers and convivincing them, but also giving talks about the standard it self and with that fostering and improving the ecosystem around sayWoT!

Within evosoft I worked on a lot of software developed for the cloud and in the Siemens context. I also got to know a lot of domains within Siemens, ranging from PowerPlant to large Motors and from production plants to smart infrastructure. Projects I worked on:

  • Development of a standard-compliant adapter implementing the W3C WoT Standard
  • Development of a middleware for the purpose of data transmission
  • Development of a system for optimizing power plants on the AWS platorm
